Senior Computational Biologist Position Computational Oncology, MSKCC

The Shah Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Computational Biologist. Join our interdisciplinary team of bioinformatic scientists, molecular biologists, and software engineers, and contribute to advancing the fields of molecular and computational cancer biology. Your work will directly impact the development of solutions that improve the lives of cancer patients.

What you will do:

  • Engage deeply with single-cell sequencing datasets to explore novel, clinically relevant questions
  • Contribute to high impact journal articles and gain recognition through authorship
  • Critique results and diagnose issues with new analyses
  • Research new developments in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics in order to apply these methods to new data sets
  • Collaborate with clinician scientists across the institute to answer novel questions in cancer genomics

Requirements:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Computer Science with emphasis on applications in molecular biology
  • Adept with data analysis using the latest packages in Python or R
  • Experience with Linux and the command line
  • Familiarity with git and working collaboratively on a codebase
  • Experience working with high throughput sequence data
  • Experience with single cell genomics

Additional Information:

  • Location: 323 East 61st Street, New York, NY 10065 (Macklowe Building)
  • Schedule: Flexible in-person schedule, averaging 4 days per week onsite
  • Pay Range: $120,000-$160,000
  • Visa Sponsorship: available for eligible candidates for this role.
